My name is Dennica Worrell. I am an Afro-Filipina. My mother was born in Luzon, and my grandmother hails from the Igorot tribe of Isabela in Northwestern Luzon.
I have always been fascinated with the rich beauty of our tribal culture before Spanish and American colonizers landed on our shores, and this project is an archival trove that is dedicated to the pre-colonial Philippine design aesthetic.
I am currently pursuing a Masters in Media Studies The New School with specializations in documentary studies and social entrepreneurship. I have a handmade jewelry line named Kalinga where I connect to my ancestral roots through adornment.
